Sindoor Operations Strikes the escalation burden on Pak: “Munir-Baazi” Pak Airbases gets hit under pressure

The harmful air attacks on seven Pakistani air bases proved to be a turning point in military operations in Pakistan in the early hours of Saturday (May 10). Within hours, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Foreign Minister Jaishankar to let him know that Pakistan is ready for a ceasefire. Not long after, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates sent similar signals. Pakistan DGMO then contacted his Indian counterparts through established channels to seek a ceasefire.
It was the beginning of a possible but cautious end to a four-day fierce military operation that created a naked Pakistani air base through the system’s air defense system – the military advantage decisively diverted India’s interests.

start

India began to start its action with three clear goals:

  • The strike targeted three terrorisms against India: Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-toiba and Hizbul Mujahideen & Let.

All goals were selected, keeping this broad framework in mind, consciously pushing these strikes beyond 2016, when India crossed the Line of Control for a surgical attack and a balakot strike as it flew further into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2019.

  • The duration of the strike must be short, at the same time and precise: as a result, all attacks were conducted simultaneously with the Indian strike on March 7, with a duration of no more than 15-20 minutes.

Shortly after the attack, India informed Pakistan through the DGMO channel that the strike was targeting terrorist sites, not against Pakistani troops or civilians. Pakistan’s DGMO response was aggressive. He conveyed that Pakistan will now respond militarily. India is ready.

  • Sources say there is always a escalation burden on Pakistan: To achieve this, there are calls for the last fires in India in any military exchange.

As a result, it is decided at the highest level and then conveyed to the military leadership, who must immediately respond to any Pakistani provocations – without waiting to check for any higher clearance rates.

“The Last Fire” Advantage

Once the Pakistani DGMO reaction is about to attack the Indian armed forces, it is obvious that the focus shifts to the third target. Diplomacy follows the same approach.

First, military operations.

India decided to systematically remove Pakistan’s air defense system after Pakistani drones and drones tried to target all major Indian bases from Awantipore from Jamu & Kashmir. India responded in the early morning of May 8 and removed Lahore’s air defense system.

The idea is to expose the air base and make their fighter and drone fleets vulnerable to the ground for the next 24-48 hours, the source said. With better precision features, Indian Hap drone equipped with swimming ammunition proved to be very successful.

But, as planned, as after May 7, the burden of military escalation fell again in Pakistan after a rapid response to the provocation in India and a fierce attack on the Lahore facility on May 8.

Under strong diplomatic pressure, Pakistan decided to respond at night by responding to 36 locations from Leh to Sir Creek and 36 locations on the international border, targeting important cities and even religious sites.

India insists on using any Pakistani provocation to further revoke its air defense locations. So shortly after the 300-400 PAK drone attack was intervened by and shortly after the Indian air defense attack, consistent with the twins with the last fire and laying the targets of the exposed Pakistan Air Force, Indian forces destroyed four other air defense facilities, including the radar site.

Deliberation and selectionmechanism

As a result of these counter-strikes, the burden of escalation returned to Pakistan when the break by the date of day 3 (May 9). That was also the day the IMF Executive Committee met and approved another batch of financial aid from Pakistan.

So, Pakistan has waited. Then, by launching the so-called Bunyan Marsoos operation, the strongest offense was released in three days, which, as subsequent developments suggest, turned out to be short.

However, after the IMF approved its aid program, Pakistan deployed a wide variety of Arsenal under this new operating code on the evening of May 9 – drones, roaming ammunition, fighters, long-range artillery and missiles. It targets civilians and military bases as India firmly defends the S-400 and Akash air defense systems.

This lasted for hours, as in the past, India responded in the early hours of May 10, but wasted no time, as Islamabad had hoped diplomatic pressure would soon encounter New Delhi. But India has different plans.

This time, Indian troops have used most of Pakistan’s air defense systems to target its air bases. Those familiar with the details told ET that Pakistan never expected India to go so far as the target brought the Indian strike directly into the heart of Pakistan.

  • Chaklala (Nur Khan) Base: Located near Rawalpindi, this is home to Pakistan’s Air Mobility Command and PAF Academy. The strike was severely damaged.
  • Lafite base: In Shorkut Cant in Punjab, it is the main facility for a large runway. Similarly, after air defense, it will be severely hit.
  • Rahim Yar Khan Base: Located in southern Punjab (opposite Rajasthan), it is a critical facility for drones, drones and fighters. According to reports, the damage is serious.
  • Murid Base: In Chakwal, north of Punjab, Murid is a forward operating base, possibly most drones and missiles launched from India. It was also damaged.

The other two foundations are Sukkur and Chunian. Similarly, within a few hours, the burden of escalation returned to Pakistan. But this time, the damage is huge, and on the basis of the four key points of Punjab, there is one in Sindh.

Sources said Pakistan was deprived of any air defense in response to further attacks. It stood at the doorstep of increasing vulnerability, one source said, adding that any further escalation in Pakistan could lead to a larger, stronger response, according to India’s response model.

Diplomacy

India has three clear objectives to hold a diplomatic front, which is complementary to the military offensive:

  • Operation Sindoor is targeting terrorist camps, not a regular strike against Pakistan
  • India will not be part of any mediation, Pakistan is correcting its approach
  • As the problem escalates, any interlocutor can always be told that the responsibility for the downgrade is related to Pakistan. This is always in touch with Pakistan with military strategies that ensure the burden of military escalation.

From day one, the terrorist news spread in India was convincing, as most international community, including key forces banning China, understood the situation after Pahargam, leading to a strike in the terrorist camp. However, the news that India received on May 7 is not to escalate the issue.

During Pakistan’s military operations from the evening of May 7-8, India’s rapid military response allowed India to respond to all interlocutors: “Tell Pakistan not to escalate”.

The strategy of not postponing the military response paid off because India took action locally before any pressure was brought on, the source said.

Sources said that despite many countries reaching out, three countries play “helpful roles” – the United States, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. But India’s message is not firm in any mediation.

In fact, India made it clear that if any leader of any country wants to visit New Delhi, they might come but cannot plan to travel to Islamabad from here. In addition to the fact that the airspace is closed, India conveys that this is no exception.

At some point, Saudi Arabia suggested “face-to-face” speeches in India and Pakistan. New Delhi refused. Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubeir did visit India but was unable to travel to Pakistan from here.

Sources said the three countries conveyed India’s message to Pakistan that if this escalates into a military matter, India will continue to respond. Those familiar with the details told ET that Pakistan is under tremendous pressure because it will be difficult to deal with every call for further escalation.

Just like on the military side, every decision about escalation puts more pressure on it. Ultimately, hits on the air base and growing diplomatic pressure proved that Pakistan could not cope.

Finally, Pakistan DGMO called on May 10 to seek a ceasefire. India said it is willing to “stop the fire”, but Pakistan will have to back off its troops and show compelling military downgrade measures.

When the fire resumed that night, Pakistan’s DGMO was asked again about Islamabad’s sincerity. Sources said this shows that the Pakistani system lacks cohesion and PAK DGMO seeks more time.

By the morning of March 11, some calm began to return. However, sources said India will remain highly alert and will not revoke any diplomatic decisions taken shortly after the Pahargan attack, including a call for temporary holding of the Indian waters treaty.
