Professional wrestling legend Sabu dies at 60: Report | Other Sports News

In a miserable development, professional wrestling legend SABU is no longer there. The former ECW and WWE star reportedly died at the age of 60.

According to Pwinsider, ECW legend Sabu passed away on May 11. A few weeks after he participated in a “retirement game” with Joey Janela on the weekend of Wrestlemania in Las Vegas.

He appeared to be his last public appearance at the Tri-State Wrestling League Gala held at the historic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia last weekend.

Sabu, real name Terry Brunk, is considered one of the true pioneers of the extreme wrestling style of the 1990s. He became one of the torchbearers of the ECW’s rebellious attitude. He was the ECW World Heavyweight Champion and the NWA World Heavyweight Champion twice.

ECW alum Francine pays tribute to Sabu.

“My heart is broken. My friend Sabs rests in peace. I love you forever,” wrote Francin on X.

The mean blue man, also known as Brian Heffron, wrote: “Rest in peace…thank you, I love you, I will miss you…I’m totally ruined.”
