Officials said police recovered two weapons, several live tours, detonators and other materials belonging to Maoists, after exchanging fires with them in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra near the border with chhattisgarh.
The exchange was conducted at three locations and lasted for two hours, released by the Police Department (SP) office.

Police said police received intelligence input on the afternoon of Sunday (May 11) with Maoist Bhamragad Dalam setting up a camp near the newly opened foot bridge in Kawande, Gadchiroli, on the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border.
Based on these inputs, the operation included about 200 C-60 commandos, a dedicated police department responsible for combating Maoist violence, led by SP M. Ramesh.
On Monday morning (May 12) when the police department carried out its operations, Maoists began firing at them, resulting in strong revenge from the C-60 department. Intermittent exchanges with Maoists took place in three locations over a two-hour period.
After the gunfight stopped, the police recovered two weapons – an automatic Insas rifle and a single rifle – a magazine, several live tours, detonators, a radio, 3 “pitthus” (sacks used by Maoists), a large amount of Maoist literature and property.
The C-60 commando completely destroyed the camps established by Maoists.
The statement said that the chances of some Maoists being injured/killed and being dragged away by others cannot be ruled out.
