Karnataka Congress removes J&K as part of Pakistan, BJP SLAMS party

A social media post by Congress in Karnataka, which contained a map showing Jamu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan, allegedly elicited a sharp reaction from the opposition BJP. The position of “X”, now removed by the state’s ruling party, is intended to criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government for “failing to” stop lending to Pakistan’s IMF.
The IMF approved an immediate payment of approximately US$1 billion to Pakistan under the ongoing expansion fund facility. India’s earlier opposition to the IMF came amid the recent April 22 Pahargam terrorist attack with the Pakistan Post, killing 26 people.
When the reporter asked the Congressional Post, the party’s governor and deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar said here: “This is wrong. It’s a small mistake; we deleted everything… Someone played a prank.” When asked about repeated deceptions on the party’s social media handling, Shivakumar said: “The person in charge of these positions has been removed” without revealing more.
R Ashoka, the leader of the opposition in the Legislative Assembly, responded to the position, saying the Karnataka Congress tweeted on Twitter showing Kashmir belonging to Pakistan, showing once again his feelings for “crime” Pakistan.
“Overall, there is no doubt that the IT cell of the Karnataka Congress Party is a sleeper for Pakistani terrorists,” he said in a post about ‘X’. Ashoka also noted that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s earlier “no war” comments did a good job before Operation Sindhaul and said, “The CM who advocates for supporting Pakistan has changed its position after public outrage.”
He further noted that Congress’ social media posts called for the Peace, which was published hours after Operation Sindhaul, was also removed due to public anger.
