BRS leader Kavitha accused Telangana Govt. Conspiracy to mortgage 175,000 acres of land to raise loans

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K. Kavitha claims that the government is conspiring to mortgage 175,000 acres of land that can be provided in the Telangana Land Bank Industrial Infrastructure Company (TGIIC) (TGIIC) to raise funds to raise funds and convert the company into a public company, a private company of a public limited company.

Ms Kavitha said at a press conference here on Monday (May 12, 2025) that TGIIC’s status as a public limited company in the existing private limited company has changed its status and will promote government mortgages and raise loans. The government has raised Rs 1,000 crore in loans by mortgageing 400 acres of land in Kancha Gachibowli.

She tried to know why the government changed the status of TGIIC into a secret without telling the people. Ms. Kavita asked what the fate of the land would be if TGIIC stock suffered losses.

She called the government’s plan a lack of vision for the future of the country, and she asked the government to withdraw its report’s decision to change the company’s status. She mentioned that the Congress government has borrowed Rs 1.8 lakh in loans in 16 months.

The money borrowed so far has not been used to fully implement at least one election commitment, despite the government claiming that the loan has exempted Rs 80,000 crore from repaying the loan. Ms. Kavita tried to understand what the government did with Rs 10,000. Ms Kavitha noted that her message was used to clean up the bills of major contractors, including the minister’s company, and not for welfare schemes.

The BRS leader asked the government to issue a white paper in case she claimed it was wrong. She said most of them account for Rs 1 lakh.

Ms. Kavita said she did not blame the government herself, but only reflected the opinions of the people in the 47 constituencies she visited so far.
