Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli thanked India and Pakistan for their understanding of stopping all shooting and military operations on May 12, 2025, saying that the Buddha’s message on peace and non-violence is more relevant today.
“When we face the conflict around us, the teachings of the Buddha and his confrontation around us are even more important,” Mr. Oli said at an event held by Buddha No. 25699999, where the Buddha was born.

“The tensions escalated near us a few days ago between India and Pakistan, but now the conflict has stopped,” he said.
“I want to thank India and Pakistan,” Oli said.
“I said from the beginning that the tension should not escalate… Conflict should not turn into war,” Ollie said, adding that he also talked to both sides.
Tensions between India and Pakistan soared in India’s actions last week in response to the April 22 Pahargan attack, killing 26 people, including Nepali citizens.
India and Pakistan have learned to stop all shooting and military operations on land, air and oceans and will take effect immediately on Saturday (10 May 2025).
Oli said in the event that the Buddhist founder’s doctrine is useful for world peace and humanity, and is related to the world and humanity.
He prayed in Lumbini’s Buddha idols, including Buddhist monks, scholars, political leaders, students and peace lovers.
In Kathmandu, people pray in Swayambhunath and Boudhanath Stupas, observing Purnima. Gyanmala Bhajan Group organized a devout song program to praise Lord Buddha.
