Kassia urges power agents to work while improving power infrastructure in Karnataka

The trade body Karnataka Small Industry Association (Kassia) urged all agencies that are aligned with the power sector to work together to strengthen the overall power infrastructure scenario in the state.

Kassia, president of MG Rajagopal, said that power distribution agencies and top agencies, including Karnataka Power Disslans Corporation, statewide and Karnataka Power Regulatory Commission (ESCOMS), should work together to improve the stability of power lines, upgrade transmission equipment and enhance distribution systems.

Mr Rajagopal said at an interactive meeting organized here for stakeholders in the power industry on Monday: “The industry hopes that the country should strengthen its power infrastructure, including power lines, transmission equipment and distribution systems,’’

P. Ravikumar, KERC and Jawaid Akhtar, IAS, KERC members, KERC of IAS interacted with members and noted the questions raised by participants during the meeting and ensured that issues within the scope of KERC regulations were resolved.

Kassia’s energy group chair Sm Hussain also stressed the importance of increasing coordination between KPTCL and ESCOM in terms of supply power, program approval, issuance of occupancy certificates, making smart meters optional, tariff abuse, network maintenance, and added that the 66/11 KVA KVA Sub Sub Station Nelamangala needs to be established.
