Skoda begins delivering new Skoda Kodak

Pune: Czech automaker Skoda launched its new Skoda Kodiaq SUV last month and has now begun delivering to customers in the Indian market.

The new Kodiaq comes in two variants: Sportline and Laurin and Klement (L&K), which are priced at Rs 4689 crore and Rs 4869 crore respectively in the Pan India showroom.

“The new Kodiaq is a perfect embodiment of precision engineering, combining unparalleled luxury, seven-seat versatility and 4×4 functionality,” said Ashish Gupta, brand director at Skoda Auto India, exaggeratedly.

He said the market response has been very encouraging since its unveiling.

The all-new second-generation Kodiaq is the brand’s flagship SUV, representing the brand’s craftsmanship and technical excellence while combining elegant European design with off-road functionality and the versatility of seven seats.

With the all-new Kodiaq, Skoda strengthened India’s SUV portfolio lineup, with the recent launch of Kylaq and Kushaq.

The Kodiaq features a revised front grille, split headlight setup with L-shaped LED DRL, and a C-shaped taillight connected by LED strips. Inside, you’ll get a 2-spoke steering wheel, a 10-inch digital instrument panel and a 13-inch floating touch screen. Other features include 3-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats with massage function (L&K Trim), panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, 9 airbags and park aids.

The Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, turbosphenol engine that produces 201 bhp and 320 nm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG and all-wheel drive system.

Volkswagen is also expected to launch Tayron by the end of this year. The three-row SUV will compete with Toyota Fortuner and its stableman (the country’s Kodiaq).
