CPI (ML) People’s Liberation Release Facts Discovery Team Report on Vadakadu Violence

During the Muthumariamman Temple Festival on May 5, after a factual visit to caste violence erupted between the pre-determined caste (SC) and most members of the backward class (MBC) class (MBC) liberation of the CPI (ML) people demanded SC/ST compensation, SC/ST ACT, legal action against Perpertors and structural social reforms.

Party Secretary-General Kasi Viduthalaikkumaran said the community was targeted specifically, linking violence to long-standing inequality in education, employment and political representation. He said that lasting caste harmony needs to address these differences.

The party said the region’s MBC history has attracted gradual ideals and leaders who advocate working-class solidarity, but added that high population density and social tensions have made the region vulnerable to separatist factors.

Key requirements include the release of scheduled caste youth arrested while defending their homes, protection of SC students exams and registration of cases against police officers who did not assume responsibilities and incite caste hatred under the SC/ST Act. The party seeks to reopen the Adai Kalam Katha Ayyanar temple, restore the Anna Football Club playground, transfer the crematorium to the SC community, close the Tasmac channels near the SC settlement, and targeted financial support, including asset-free bank loans and agriculture-based industries.

Meanwhile, Thanga Thirupathi, in the village of Servaikaranpatti in Vadakadu Panchayat, filed a complaint at the Vadakadu Police Station seeking legal action against MP Thol. Thirumavalavan allegedly made misleading television comments about the Vadakadu caste conflict, which the complainant claimed was a distorted fact, ignored police clarifications and risked destruction of peace in the MBC and SC communities.
