Amid the dramatic decline of the plastic surgeon of “Sugar Daddy” he lost his career, reputation and marriage

A former leading plastic surgeon used the Sugar Daddy website to contact the 13-year-old girl and pay the girl, “falling from Grace”.

Defense barrister Philip Strickland told Newcastle District Court that Richard Sackelariou, 70, had a huge change in his life when he had major surgery in 2017 and was asked to wear a colostomy for five years.

Mr Strickland said Sackelariou, who practiced and married two children in Sydney and Melbourne, started using porn before his wife no longer wanted to visit Candy Dad’s website after the surgery.

Sackelariou’s initial preference for Sugar Daddy’s website was for women aged 18-24, but he continued to have sex with the victims even though he knew they were under 18.

Between September 2021 and October 2022, he paid six girls aged 13 to 15, mainly meeting him in hotel rooms in Sydney, Newcastle and Queensland.

He pleaded guilty to 10 charges, including five infringement of prostitution by children aged 14 to 18, one of which used carriage services to conduct sexual activities by people under the age of 16 and caused child abuse materials for children aged 14 or older.

Sackelariou agreed to plead guilty to ten charges after official 30 other charges were dropped, including eight counts of having sex with a child between the ages of 10 and 14.

Strickland said Tuesday at a verdict hearing that Sackelariou received great respect in the community before his arrest.

‘Family, friends, career, reputation, disappeared. It was a spectacular grace for this man.

Sackelariou told the court that he was ashamed.

“I was shocked by that person…I caused this kind of harm and damage,” he said.

“I intervened in myself during my sexual development and disrupted their normal sexual development.”

Sackelariou said the statement read out in the closed court of two of his victims, which was horrible for him.

He said his wife, who had liver cancer, was very frustrated and angry with him after being arrested and divorced him since then. His two sons refused to talk to him.

Sackelariou admitted in question by Prosecutor Kristy Mulley that he never thought about how his crime would affect the victims and family.

Ms. Muli said: “Even if you find these girls are under 18, you are still pursuing them.”

Sackelariou will be willing to pay the girl nude photos before arranging to meet in various hotel rooms. He always handed the cash to the white envelope.

He offered a 15-year-old girl $1,000 sex from Sydney, but when she refused, he raised the offer to $3,500 for 30 minutes and met at Chatswood Quest Apartments.

Sackelariou will be sentenced Friday.
