A huge fire broke out in the Kerala Beverage Company (BEVCO) warehouse on Tuesday night, destroying tens of crores of rupees worth of wine on Tuesday night.

Officials said the fire broke out around 8.15 p.m., burning a large part of the warehouse.

Seven fire trucks were deployed to the site to control the fire. Despite the ruthless effort for more than an hour, the fire was not controlled and a large part of the facility was reduced to the ashes.

The fire bottle burned causing a small explosion. The brewery that produces Jawan brand wines is nearby.

The exact cause of the fire remains unknown. “Once the fire is fully extinguished, an investigation into the cause will follow,” an official said. Authorities are expected to assess the extent of the damage and conduct a detailed investigation into the incident.
