Telangana Gurukul Association begins free skills development training to make students hiring

Telangana Social Welfare Residential Education Institutions Association (TGSWREIS) will launch a free skill development training program for all students in the 2025-26 academic year.
Secretary Alagu Varshini said on Tuesday that it was working with the Bangalore-based Unnathi Foundation to provide Gurukul students with the skills to get them employed.
Speaking to the media, Ms. Valhini explained that students aged 18-25, including Gurukul alumni, will be eligible to participate. Through the combination of offline and online training modules, 200 hours of training and 70 hours of application-based practice classes will be achieved. The program will be officially launched in Gurkuls on June 3.
“In addition, we will start 15 new vocational courses this school year. The goal is to train 36,000 students,” she stressed.
Tgswreis also works with the French Embassy of India, France, to provide certified courses to teachers and students in Gurukuls.
Starting at A1 level and developing into B and C, students may become proficient. The plan will also begin in June.
Ms Varshini told a total of 1,69,171 applications for 57,523 seats were received this year. In two rounds of consultation, 55,504 seats have been filled, and the remaining 2,019 seats will be vacant in a special category. The final round of consultation will be held on May 20.
