Congress locks down at Kozhikode Corporation office

The Regional Congress Committee (DCC) launched a campaign against alleged corruption and nepotism at Kozhikode Corporation.

DCC Chairman K. Praveen Kumar told the media on Tuesday (May 13) that Congress will block the company’s office on May 27 and hold a protest declaration meeting at Kozhikode City Hall at 4.30 pm on May 14 (May 14).

“The Left Democratic Front (LDF) has been ruling Kozhikode Corporation for decades for four and a half years. During this time, the company has become synonymous with corruption and nepotism. Our mission is to free Kozhikode from the clutch of corrupt leaders,” Mr. Praveen Kumar said. The lockdown will mark the first step in the movement against the company, under the Slogan Committee Company, Save Kozhikode.

Kerala Congress Committee (KPCC) Secretary General PM Niyas said the party asked for an itemized explanation of the company’s building, and the company’s expenses rose from Rs 950 crore to Rs 1.95 crore, to be completed. It also requires a complete list of unauthorized buildings in the city. The party further stated that the company should make the public name public, the company set up advertising committees in the city and the amount of work levied.

Kozhikode’s advertising price is better than Thrissur, Kannur or Kollam. However, the company is “Benami” of senior CPI (M) leaders, and its contract is cheap, so the company’s funds are being robbed. ” said Mr. Niyas.

Congress also asked the company to cancel plans to relocate Parayam’s vegetable market as it was allegedly part of a sprawling real estate deal to sell precious market land. It also demanded a bio cover and cap on Njeliyanparamba with Zonta Infratech contract, and the activities conducted there raised Rs 3 crore in compensation in detail.

Opposition leaders from KPCC Secretary-General K. Jayanth and Corporation KC Shobhita were present.
