Bhopal: A Chinese national who has lived in a village in the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh for six decades and is facing deportation as a sixth-year term as a “Chinese spy” in various prisons in India, as he exaggerated his visa.
Wang Qi, 85, married an Indian after being released from 1969-70 and settled in Tirodi, Balaghat district, where the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) asked, either his visa extension has expired on May 4, 2025 since it expired on May 4, 2025.
Vishnu, who shared the text message with the newspaper, said his father was unable to apply for a long-term visa because of India-Pakistan.
After the Chinese War, the king inadvertently invaded India on January 3, 1963 and was captured by Indian soldiers. According to Vishnu, he was convicted by the court as a Chinese spy and sentenced to six years in prison.
“My father served his sentence in Assam, Delhi, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Jabalpur and finally served his sentence in the prison in Baraghat. When he settled in Tirodi, Balaghat, he completed his term in prison.”
The king then married a local resident who had two sons and two daughters.
After nearly 47 years of fighting with the Indian and Chinese governments to make it respected, Wang visited his home in Shaozhainan, Shaanxi province on February 10, 2017.
Three months later, he returned to India and has since made two short visits to his hometown in 2018 and 2023.
“We have to renew our father’s visa every four months, spending 15,000 times each time. We can’t afford the money. We urge the authorities to issue my father multiple admission visas or long-term visas to our father for five to ten years to ensure he will visit his hometown in China and spend time on Tirodi with his family.”
