NVIDIA JAY PURI salary hike: An Indian-born executive at NVIDIA just rose from $136,000 to $21.6 million

NVIDIA’s senior executives are now worth $3 trillion, significantly better than its revenue and operating revenue targets for fiscal 2025, even with the positive stretch goals set by the Board’s Compensation Committee. As a result, the board approved the largest performance-based spending for CEO Jensen Huang and his leadership team. Huang also received his first salary in a decade, while the total compensation of some senior executives jumped as much as 70%.

Huang’s base salary was reportedly increased by 50% last year, but it was reportedly only a small part of his total salary, which was close to $50 million.

Jay Puri’s salary sees huge hike

Although CFO Colette Kris received a $21.4 million compensation package, up from $13.27 million the previous year, Jay Puri, the head of global field operations, received a $21.6 million bonus, and $13.6 million.

Jay Puri is executive vice president of global field operations for NVIDIA’s global business. According to his profile on NVIDIA’s official website, he oversees the company’s sales, business development, partner alliances, solution architecture and engineering, program management and support service organizations.


After 22 years at Sun Microsystems, Puri joined NVIDIA in 2005, where he held various leadership roles in sales, marketing, and general management. During his time at Nvidia and Sun, Puri held roles in marketing, management consulting and product development for HP, Booz Allen & Hamilton and Texas Instruments.

He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, California Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s salary

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang received a 50% base salary increase last year, but hardly made up his nearly $50 million salary. NVIDIA announced Tuesday that CEO Jensen Huang’s total compensation in fiscal 2025, including cash and stock, reached $49.9 million, starting from $34.2 million the previous year. This growth reflects company-wide executive compensation adjustments, including a $7 million increase in target compensation for Yellow to better align with market standards.

It is worth noting that Huang received his first basic salary increase in ten years. The news comes after NVIDIA’s strong financial position, with revenue reaching $130.5 billion in fiscal 2025, operating income of $86.8 billion, and total shareholder yield of 384%.

Situated in that labor force is the yellow child. “The daughter and son of our president, CEO and board member Jen-Hsun Huang were hired by the company,” Nvidia said in the filing.

“The total compensation for Mr. Huang’s daughter and son in fiscal 2025 will be $1,130,000 and $530,000, respectively,” the statement added.
