Chittoor Students Enter London World Record Book
Five students from a government school in Chittal have their names engraved in London World Record Book. These five win their quick memory and recitation of the decimal values of the mathematical constant PI (π).
The students all came from the Zilla Parishad High School of Bangarupalem Mandal, Mangalapalli, who met in his room on Wednesday with regional collector Sumit Kumar. The students accompanied their math teacher and tutor Aruna Shivaprasad, who also specifically mentioned his guidance in the record.
Lahari is a 9th grade student who recited the first 1,000 decimal points of the PI in just 4 minutes and 55 seconds. 10th grade student K Puneeth Sai extended the sequence from 1,001 decimal points to 2,000 decimal places in 7 minutes and 31 seconds, and then from 2,001 to 3,000 in 8 minutes and 11 seconds. Revathi remembered and recited the numbers 3,001 to 3,600 in 8 minutes.
