Tata has two Discom Bids for Rs 250 crore in fiscal 26

Tata Power is seeking to spend CEO Praveer Sinha said the company is also eager to bid for two Dist dances in Uttar Pradesh in FY26.

The company plans a capital expenditure 200 million in fiscal 25, but can be achieved He said $100 billion as certain transmission and renewable energy projects are delayed.

Sinha said Tata Power added 2.3 GW of capacity in FY25, while in FY26, the company is expected to add 2.5-2.7 gw of capacity.

He added: “We will also complete long-term wind turbine supply (1-1.5 gw) in the next three or four weeks.”

The CEO said the company is keen on this in the nuclear program planning, but that it can only make any progress after legal clarity.

“We are waiting for amendments to the Nuclear Power Act – especially civil liability and private sector participation. We hope these are at the monsoon meeting. We are preparing for on-site assessments, water arrangements and technical comments, but the next step depends on legal clarity.”

Sinha answered another question from two Discoms (power distribution companies) that have privatized in Uttar Pradesh, and Sinha said the company will look into opportunities.

“Yes, we’re very interested (to UP Discoms) and look forward to the bid documents at the end of this month. We’ll definitely be there,” he said.

Tata Force will continue to assess good opportunities and align with its long-term strategy. All appropriate opportunities will be checked.

In Uttar Pradesh, the government is privatizing records – Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (PVVNL) and Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (DVVNL). Of the 75 regions in Uttar Pradesh, these two Discom cover 42.

Regarding interest in U.S. exports, he said: “Our direct priority is to serve the domestic market, especially under the leadership of Surya Ghar Yojana, which requires the GTR module. After that, we can check the possibility of exports.”

Sinha said the company has many ongoing orders internally and third parties, which will be completed within the next six months.
