Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh-starrer sees a decline but crosses Rs 175 crore worldwide
Ajay Devgn’s crime thriller Raid 2 is the third highest-grossing Hindi film in 2025, and soon brings Cross Salman Khan’s action thriller Sikandar to a box office of Rs 18.4 crore.

RAID 2, titled Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh, was released in the cinema on Thursday, May 1. The film is a direct sequel to the 2018 film Raid, with Vaani Kapoor replacing the original Ajay wife Ileana D’Cruz. Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Amit Sial, Brijendra Kala, Yashpal Sharma and Govind Namdev also played a role in supporting the role. Crime thriller has been doing well at the box office and has become one of the highest-grossing Indian movies in 2025. In the first 13 days, RAID 2 received a net amount of Rs 1301 billion in India and received a Worldwide of Rs 17425 crore. According to early estimates by the industry tracking Portal Sacnilk, the film received Rs 290 crore on the 14th day of May 14th. Ajay Devgn-starrer earned Rs 450 crore on Tuesday, so the film dropped a bit on Wednesday but scored Rs 175 crore at the global box office.
RAID 2 is also the third highest-grossing Hindi film in 2025, soon bringing the action thriller Sikandar by Salman Khan to a box office of Rs 18.4 crore. The Ajay Devgn movie will soon be the second highest-grossing movie of the year. Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava remains the highest-grossing Indian and Indian movies in 2025 as it earned Rs 601 crore in India and earned Rs 808 crore at the global box office. The only Bollywood movies that can challenge Chhaava records are Hrithik Roshan, JR NTR, Kiara Advani-Starrer War 2, which is scheduled to be released in cinemas on the Independence Day weekend on August 14.
Like the original sequel, back to RAID 2, drawing inspiration from real-life income tax raids, showing how income tax department officials can work with intelligence agencies to investigate and expose white-collar criminal activities. It was directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also hosted the first part. Apart from two crime thrillers, Gupta directed four more films, namely Aamir (2008), No one kills Jessica (2011), Ghanchakkar (2013), and India’s Most Wanted (2019).
