India-Pakistan after conflict, JNU takes action against Türkiye…

Public sentiment towards Turkey’s Jewish and Azerbaijan has risen after India’s recent military operation, Operation Sindor, has been driven by support for Pakistan.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) announced a suspension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Turkiye Inonu University on Wednesday with national security as “consideration”. “The memorandum of understanding between JNU and Inonu University has been suspended until further notice due to national security concerns. JNU stands with the country,” said JNU in a statement released on X.

Public sentiment towards Turkey’s Jewish and Azerbaijan has risen after India’s recent military operation, Operation Sindor, has been driven by support for Pakistan. More than 15,000 bookings from Uttar Pradesh to Turkiye and Azerbaijan have been cancelled in the past few days, travel industry sources said. In view of the circumstances, several travel agencies and airlines are offering full refunds.

Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after the Pahargam terrorist attacks. According to defense officials, Pakistan attempted a drone invasion at 36 sites between Leh and Sir Creek on the evening of May 8, reportedly using Turkey-Ore drones, about 300 to 400 drones involved. The Indian armed forces used dynamic and non-movement methods to knock down several of these drones.

Preliminary forensic analysis of the debris showed that certain drones were made in Turkey, including the “Asisguard Songar” model and the Turkish-original drone named “Yiha” or “Yeehaw” as official statement. This situation has shown how profound national sentiment and tourism are. India calls for boycotts to reverberate throughout the industry and prompted massive cancellations after Sindor’s action.
