“Through Adi Dravidar’s percentage, the tribal students reached 96%”

The Tamil Nadu government said on Thursday that in six decades, the percentage of ADI Dravidar and tribal students in higher secondary schools has reached 96%, thanks to special initiatives.

About 480 new classrooms and 15 science laboratories are built in 154 Adi Dravidar welfare schools, with a cost of Rs 108,500 crore. It said that over 250 classrooms, 42 toilets and labs were built in 65 high schools, with a cost of Rs 12.5 crore and smart classrooms were established in 119 Adi Dravidar welfare schools.
The release said that equipment worth Rs 315 crore has been provided to 126 ADI DRAVIDAR and tribal high schools’ science labs, adding: “The coaches who perform admission exams for higher education institutions are being offered to tribal students in residential schools covering JEE, NEET, NEET, NEET, CLAT, NIFT, NIFT and CUET.”
It further said that the state government is providing financial assistance to law students from Adi Dravidar, tribes and converted to the Christian Adi Dravidar community in the final year of the Government Law School.
Under the Annal Ambedkar Overseas Higher Education Program, students receive up to Rs 3.6 lakh help each year. Although only 9 students benefited greatly in 2021-2022, 176 students currently benefited from the scheme, adding: “The allocation of the scheme has increased from Rs 5331 crore in 2021-2022 to Rs 6033 crore in 2024-2025 in 2024-2025, in the 2024-2025 of the Dravidian Model Government.”
