He said it was necessary to conduct a single bunker in vulnerable areas. “With the support of the coalition government, we will build individual bunkers in all areas affected by the shelling,” Abdullah said.
The center has built 7,923 bunkers in the fragile border areas of the Jamu department, including 6,964 individuals and 959 community bunkers.

Mr. Abdullah promised to draft long-term recovery measures, the worst of which was Salamabad. “It is my government’s responsibility to ensure that you have the necessary support to rebuild your life with dignity,” he said.
Family displacement
Salamabad, Lagama, Bandi, Razarwani and Gums moved to a safer place after seeing more than 100 families damaged their homes in a cross-border shelling.
At Gingal Village, Mr Abdullah checked the URI-I Hydro Electric Project of NHPC, which was also targeting the recent shelling. “The situation at URI reflects the situation at Tangdhar, Rajouri and Poonch,” he said.
During J&K’s four-day confrontation, 18 civilians were killed in Pakistan’s shelling and firing.
“India is not the first to start a war, but it all started with a terrorist attack on innocent civilians in Pahargan, with 26 of them killed. From the beginning, I insisted that the guns would be silent only when they were also on the other side,” Abdullah said.
Happy about the truce
He expressed satisfaction with the LOC returning to J&K. “I’m glad that the other side’s DGMO (Director General of Military Operations) picked up the phone and called here, which helped to establish a ceasefire,” Abdullah said.
Meanwhile, Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant Pratik Sharma, Commander-in-Chief, called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to learn about the current security scenarios and the latest developments along the Line of Control (LOC) and other border areas in Jamu and Kashmir.
“Our forces have done a commendable work in protecting the country,” the Chief Minister said.
Lieutenant General Sharma also met Lieutenant J&K Manoj Sinha and briefed him on the security scenario.
