New logistics parks to appear in 10 Maharashtra cities

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government signed a memorandum of understanding (memorandum of understanding) with the Horizon Industrial Park, Blackstone-backed logistics platform and XSIO Logistics Park (FID) on Wednesday, worth Rs 5,121 crore. Officials said the memorandum of understanding will help develop logistics parks in ten places in the state. It will create approximately 27,510 direct and indirect jobs in the state.
The MoU was signed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry Dr. P. Anbalagan and RK Narayan, President of Strategy and Business Development of Horizon Industrial Park, in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, his Vice Vice President Ennath Shinde, Blackston Parikh, Indian Real Estate Director Blackstone Alok Jain, Managing Director of Blackstone Alok Jain, Sahyadri Hotel.
Officials said the Memorandum of Understanding has been signed for the development of modern logistics and industrial parks in the state’s major industrial and multimodal logistics areas.
A senior official from the Ministry of Industry claimed that the memorandum of understanding was one of the largest FDI-backed investments in the state’s logistics and industrial sectors. “It envisions the development of state-of-the-art, sustainable industrial and logistics parks across major locations, including Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune and other strategic corridors. These developments will catalyze the next generation of manufacturing, warehouse and supply chain ecosystems, as well as the state’s leadership as India’s premier investment destination to enable the country’s leadership.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the logistics park will be developed in more than a dozen places in the state. To do this, 794.2 acres of land will be used. A total of Rs 51.27 crore will be invested in the state.
“These logistics parks will be developed in key locations such as Nagpur, Bhiwandi, Chakan, Khandwa, Sinnar, Panvel, etc. These projects will be very friendly and will build digital infrastructure. These parks will be with Maharashtra Logistics Polative Colation Compartion 2024.
An industrial sector official said the two companies have acquired 740 acres of land in Nag Mumbai, Nagpur and other cities. “All logistics parks will operate within the next 18 months. Many young people will arrive at these logistics parks in 2026,” the official said.
