Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy asserted that his government was committed to completing Telangana’s upcoming irrigation project and took steps in that direction.
Therefore, the government has prioritized SLBC, Sitarama, Devadula, Nettempadu, Sammakka-Sarakka and other projects for quick completion. “The government is committed to completing upcoming irrigation projects to capitalize on the irrigation potential of the people’s interests,” he said.
The Chief Minister spoke after circulating an appointment letter to newly appointed assistant executive engineers and other officials on Wednesday. He described the work of the irrigation department as a kind of “emotion”, not only employment, but also that political parties gained benefits through emotions. He recalled how the government recruited 1,161 positions in the department because it took over the in-strength and said that a fair share in the water was one of the main goals behind the separate national movement.
Mr Revanth Reddy wants to know why the irrigation project is still under trial despite spending Rs 2 million since the inception of Telangana in 2014. He questioned, advising intellectuals and employees to review the developments of BRS rules over the past decade.
The Chief Minister recalls the irrigation priorities under former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and has established major projects that are not disturbed by disasters. However, the Kaleshwaram project conceived and completed by the former government collapsed within three years. “The Kaleshwaram project involves an investment of Rs 10,000 and does not provide irrigation to at least 50,000 acres. It is the only project in the world that has collapsed within three years of construction,” he said.
The project is a lesson on how not to build a project that will cause serious losses. From the facts below, it can be seen that the former government has not conducted soil tests before conducting the Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla barrage. “It’s because of someone who claims to have read 80,000 books and turned himself into an engineer,” he said.
Each area should clearly perform duties. “Engineers should perform their duties and politicians. Engineers should work together as appropriate and if they listen to the advice of politicians with limited knowledge, they will suffer.”
Mr Revanth Reddy said it was known that over the past decade, the negligence of the SLBC project has led to negligence of the SLBC project and said the government should receive adequate care during the construction of the project. He refers to Group I appointments, and he said he knew of the political leaders who created obstacles in the recruitment process. However, the government is committed to overcoming obstacles and completing the recruitment process as soon as possible.
