Who is Fahad Lehri? Was he kidnapped and killed in Pakistan’s Pakistani army? Human rights groups say…

According to the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), the killings in Fahard were not an act of isolation, but a wider movement to silence Baloch’s voice. A spokesman for the BYC said: “He did not appear in court. There was no warrant. There was no legal process. There was no trial. His only crime was Baloch.”

After the discovery of Fahad Lehri’s body on May 14, 2025, he swept the new wave of Bal Luzhi Province after he found Fahad Lehri’s body from Mastung in Mastung. The bullet-ridden body of the young student was abandoned in the same area where he was kidnapped, and is the latest evidence of the ongoing and systematic “killing and plunging” policy in Pakistan.

In Bal Luzhin, forced disappearance has become a grim reality, where students, artists, political activists and laborers have been under threat. Fahard now joins hundreds of people who have been kidnapped, tortured and secretly executed – without justice that has left his family in pain and fear.

“This is not a law enforcement officer; this is a cold-blooded murder. We reject this system of oppression, discarding life and keeping silent voices.” Despite increasing international attention, the Pakistani state continues to take impunity with the help of media blackouts and global silence. These extrajudicial killings were carried out under the guise of national security and constituted war crimes hidden behind closed borders.

But the people in Baloch refused to remain silent. Just as Fahad’s family mourns, communities in the area are resisting. “We will remember Farhard. We will say his name. Bullets may bury corpses, but they cannot bury the truth.”

In Pakistan, the disappearances and kidnappings carried out continue to be widely violated human rights, especially in areas such as Bal Luzhi Province. Rights activists, students and political dissidents are often seized by security agencies without formal charges, legal procedures or judicial oversight.

These detentions were carried out secretly, causing the family to be miserable, with no information on the fate or location of the loved ones. Victims often endure illegal imprisonment, torture, and in some cases extrajudicial executions – all of which are excuses for national security or counter-terrorism efforts.
Despite international criticism, such violations remain minimally responsible.
