Actor Vijay Raaz acquitted in 2020 sexual harassment case

All charges in Gundia’s other chief judicial courts indicted him in 2020 in sexual harassment cases filed against him during a filming of Gundia and Balagat.

Actor Vijay Raaz is known for his roles in Stree, Delhi Belly and others, and he is also known for Vidya Balan for allegations of sexual harassment and stalking brought by a colleague in the show of the film Sherni.

All charges in Gundia’s other chief judicial courts indicted him in 2020 in sexual harassment cases filed against him during a filming of Gundia and Balagat.

The court found him innocent after completing the trial and he was acquitted of all charges against him. The verdict announced by Judge Mahendra Keshao cleared the 51-year-old actor’s allegations under Section 354-A (sexual harassment) and 354-D (stalking) (stalking) (stalking) of the Indian Penal Code, citing a lack of evidence and a sense of guilt with no reasonable doubt.

The case dates back to October 25-29, 2020, when a female crew member accused Razz of filming at Hotel Gateway in the Gundya Hotel and later filming at Jatashankar College in Balaghat, including inappropriate behavior, including unwelcome physical contact and suggestive remarks.

Saveena Bedi Sachar, his advocate and famous celebrity lawyer, said the actor who shot near Nagpur for “Sherni” not only had to leave the film halfway, but also lost the work. However, he is now declared innocent, and she hopes the case will collect charges for those who declare every defendant guilty, as an example.

According to the FIR filed on November 3, 2020, the actor allegedly tried to touch the complainant, adjusted the mask without consent and commented on her appearance. The woman later reported the incident to her seniors and filed a complaint with the Ramnagar Police Department.

The incident dates back to November 4, 2020, when Raaz was arrested in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, alleging harassment of a crew member in a hotel left by film crew. He was released on bail that day. During the investigation, police caught CCTV video from the hotel and recorded the witness’s statement.

However, the court pointed out that the main witness did not directly witness the incident. CCTV footage failed to finally support the allegation. The main complainant was unable to testify because she died before the trial ended.

The prosecution witness is turned hostile, or the seizure procedure or content of the document cannot be confirmed. As a result, the court concluded that the prosecution failed to prove that the defendant was involved in any sexual misconduct and declared innocent.

The court also ordered the cancellation of Razz’s bail deposit, the return of the guaranteed amount and the destruction of videos seized during the appeal. He was instructed to provide a deposit of Rs. Six months under CRPC Section 437-A have 7,000 months to ensure presence in the event of any appeal.
