Southern Railway has approved two instructors of Kottayam-Nilambur trains after MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s intervention.
A party statement on Thursday said two coaches will be added starting on May 22.
The party said the decision came after a meeting convened in Wayanad on May 5 with senior railway officials and raised this request from the people of her constituency.
The statement said that the train of 12 coaches will receive a head coach and a non-AC chair so far.
Another problem with train travel is the lack of booking coaches, and MPs assured that she will take steps to ensure facilities are also provided.
The statement said tourists and airport passengers found it difficult to book seats in advance due to the lack of booking coaches on the train.
