Police have conducted a brutal attack on a man accused of brutal assaulting his 88-year-old grandmother in Kandankali, Kannur, Kerala. The incident occurred on May 11. Victim A. Karthyayani is currently receiving treatment at the Kannur Medical College Hospital.
Defendant Riju allegedly kicked the elderly woman and knocked her head against the wall, according to a complaint filed by her family nurse. The attack is believed to be due to her dissatisfaction with the decision not to live with him.
Another grandson, Rahul, said Riju was intoxicated during the attack. He initially claimed that Karthyayani fell in the bathroom, but the injuries observed by the doctors also suggested. Relatives confirmed that visible attack marks were found during her physical examination.
Although registration has been conducted under sections 126 (2) and 115 (2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the police have not arrested the defendant.
