Days after the halt of fire and large-scale military operations between India and Pakistan, the global powers continue to support the existing pause of military operations between the two sides. The UK said on Friday (May 16, 2025) that it was “confirmed” to ensure that the pauses in counter-terrorism efforts and hostilities remained on track. British Foreign Secretary David Lammy spoke in Islamabad, England, strongly condemned terrorism and reminded India and Pakistan to enjoy close ties with the UK, and announced that he would visit India soon.

“It is certain that both India and Pakistan have agreed to suspend hostilities and maintained a ceasefire. Due to the close and historic link between our population and our government, we are determined to play our role in counter-terrorism and ensure that this fragile ceasefire becomes a lasting peace. He further said: “Since the horrific terrorist attacks in Pahargam, the UK has done everything possible to support the situation to alleviate tensions, ceasefire and condemn terrorism.” ”

Officials here said Mr Rami would not arrive here from his visit to Islamabad, mainly because of India’s emphasis on the popularization of Pakistan, and Mr Rami’s visit to India will be announced later.

“Painful Image”

“The image of the conflict between India and Pakistan makes us all suffer in the UK: but especially the millions of British people with Indian and Pakistan heritage, as well as many British nationals living in both countries.” British Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar made multiple phone calls and made public statements about the evolving situation. Not long after, the Russian Foreign Ministry also expanded its support for spokesman Maria Zakharova in military operations, expressing hope that “normalization” will last. “We urge both countries to resolve disputes through bilateral political and diplomatic channels,” Ms. Zakharova said.
