ISRO releases the 101st mission on EOS-09-Sunday

Nellol: India will be released through the launch of EOS-09, the 101st mission of its space program, which will be scripted in another chapter of its space journey, which is scheduled for 5.59 a.m. on Sunday.
The satellite will be launched on the PSLV-C61 on the first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan space center in Sriharikota. The 22-hour countdown starts at 7:59 a.m. Saturday.
The mission marks the 63rd flight and 27th flight of the PSLV, and its powerful XL configuration is known for its reliability and versatility.
The PSLV-C61 is 44.5 meters high and has a lift-off mass of 321 tons. It brings EOS-09 into a polar orbit that is synchronized with sunlight, making it very suitable for Earth observation tasks.
Once EOS-09 is deployed, ISRO will use orbital change thrusters to lower the height of Phase IV and then passivate to minimize space debris, highlighting ISRO’s commitment to sustainable space practices.
The EOS-09 is a cutting-edge Earth observation satellite equipped with synthetic aperture radar, with all-weather, night imaging capabilities. Weighing 1696.24 kg, the satellite is designed for a five-year mission life and will support a range of applications – from agriculture and forestry to disaster management.
ISRO said EOS-09 will play a crucial role in enhancing surveillance at the India-Pakistan border. The timing of deployment is very important, following the recent Operation Sindoor, a high-intensity counter-terrorism mission in response to the murder of civilians in Pahalgam.
Importantly, the EOS-09 carries dedicated Deorbiting fuel, ensuring a safe and controlled lifespan disposal, an increasingly necessity for modern space missions.
