CRPF bids for emotional farewell to Dog Soldier Rolo

Reibull: On Friday, the CRPF sent an emotional farewell to Sniffer Dog Rolo, who died in Karregutta anti-Naxal operation at Karregutta anti-Naxal on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border at Sukma regional headquarters in South Bastar region.
The two-year-old Belgian Shepherd is part of the elite dog team of CRPF 228 battalion. On April 27, during an anti-Naxal operation in Karregutta Hills, dog soldiers were suddenly attacked by a group of bees.
Rolo’s handling program is covered with polyethylene sheets, but the bees slip and bite it inside. Officials said the dog came out violently due to the intense pain and irritation, leaving it vulnerable to more stinging injuries.
The dog was stabbed 200 times and fell into a coma. Officials said she was evacuated at the scene and the handling staff gave her emergency treatment.
However, Rolo succumbed to pain on his way to the medical facility on April 27 and was pronounced dead by the veterinarians of the unit.
CRPF pays tribute to Rolo through the recognition disc of death from DG.
Born on April 5, 2023, Rolo was trained in infantry patrols and explosive detection and attacks before joining Operation Naxal. In the past, she found a large number of rescuers to save the troops in large-scale operations in the past.
The dog deployed anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh in April last year after training at the CRPF Dog Training Centre in Taralu near Bangalore, Karnataka.
