CM Revanth orders suppression of fake seeds and fertilizers

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has ordered a statewide crackdown on traders selling fake seeds and fertilizers. At a review meeting held in the Secretariat on Friday, CM directed district officials to take strict action against those involved in such illegal activities.

CM issued clear instructions to collectors and police in various regions to remain vigilant and curb the sale of forged seeds. He said the agricultural and police departments should work together to form a task force to carry out joint attacks. Surveillance at all state borders should be strengthened to prevent illegal movements of fake agricultural products.

At the meeting, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and senior officials introduced CM to CM, with sufficient supply of seeds and fertilizers in all regions. Officials pointed out that the area of ​​rice and cotton planting is expected to rise this season, and seed companies are meeting farmers’ needs.

Revanth Reddy also stressed the need for a wide range of publicity campaigns to prevent farmers from becoming victims of fake companies. He urged the Ministry of Agriculture to take positive steps to educate farmers about the risks of counterfeiting products. CM directed officials to prepare for the monsoon season to ensure that there are enough seeds and fertilizers to meet the growing demand.

CM assured farmers the availability of fertilizers and seeds, urging them to rely on official sources. He advised: “According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, early rains are expected this year, and their additional crops should be prepared and planned accordingly.” Revanth also warned farmers to buy only appropriately packaged seeds throughout the crop cycle and keep their bills and seed packs to avoid the victims that cause fraud.
