Police said at least four people were killed and 15 injured when an Omni bus hit a tractor, median and opposite to Saturday’s opposite direction near Semmadai in the area.
Police said the van driver was also one of the dead, adding that the injured were admitted to a nearby government hospital for treatment. Police said the all-around bus from Bengaluru to Nagercoil crashed into a tractor on the Karuel-Salem highway, and the vehicle crashed to the right due to the impact, crashed with a tourist truck from Thoothukudi and collided with the opposite direction.
The front of Omni buses, tractors and vans was damaged due to the impact of the collision. Police have registered a case and the investigation is underway.
