Capital Amaravati has 30% green cover: AP DGP

Vijayawada: Harish Kumar Gupta, Director General of the Associated Press Police Department (DGP) stressed the importance of cleaning and greening to ensure a healthy society. He made a remark while attending the Swarnandhra-Swachhandhra movement at the AP State Police Headquarters in Mangalagiri, with the theme of cleaning and greening.

After planting the saplings as part of the campaign, DGP noted that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu envisions India becoming the global leader by 2047 and Andhra Pradesh becoming the world’s number one state, while prioritizing environmental protection and greenness.

Harish Kumar Gupta stressed that India still lags behind green coverage in many countries, stressing the need for a strong action plan to increase green coverage. In this regard, the state capital Amaravati is developing 30% green coverage, he said.

For this purpose, he called on people who stay in the region to plant trees as social responsibility, actively protect the environment and control pollution.

As part of the campaign, about 520 police headquarters staff, including senior officials, conducted a huge cleaning, eliminating waste and improving the surroundings.
