“When the train arrived at the Central Academy, it was announced that those at Cubbon Park had to get off at Vidhana Soudha station or MG Road. I had to get off at Vidhana Soudha and then walk in the rain to get to my destination. The flooded roads didn’t do much better,” he said.
Another commuter, Aniketh G., suffered the same fate. “About our train left Vidhana Soudha station, it was announced that the pause of Cubbon Park was cancelled. The minimum subway authorities may announce this at the previous station. In addition, there is no reason to cancel it.”
Huge crowd
Meanwhile, two-wheeler drivers take shelter around the station due to rain, which adds to already struggling cricket matches.
Yashwanth Chavan, chief public relations officer of Bengaluru Metro Corporation (BMRCL), said the decision to abandon the stoppage at the station due to overcrowding.
“Due to rain, due to rain, passengers leaving at the Cubbon Park Station shelter, the station was overcrowded, and some trains were skipped by appropriate announcements as part of crowd management, between 6.15 pm and PM, and unfortunately, part of passenger safety.”
