Rajya Sabha MP, Derek O Brien of the All India Trinamool Congress, urged the student community to be part of the All India Catholic University Federation to learn about the past of the movement, adding that the battle for college students began with misinformation of fighting the facts of WhatsApp University.

Mr. O’Brien said at the conclusion ceremony of the Centennial and Sixth National Congress of AICUF that there are 54,000 educational institutions in the Christian community. “70% of the boys and girls who go to these Christian educational institutions are non-Christian. In other words, they are Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs and atheists. Seventy million boys and girls go to these institutions, and 70% of them are non-Christian. What does that mean?

Mr O’Brien said Jesuit education has been for “greater benefits” and social justice. He also encouraged young students to ask questions and answer them, although he avoided answering sharp questions about politics. He also selected five students who will be taken to New Delhi to witness the monsoon meeting of the parliament.
