Ramakanth Joshi of Manohara Granthamala is dead

Dharwad’s teacher, writer and publisher Ramakanth Joshi died Saturday at a private hospital.

Professor Ramakanth Joshi, 89, is the son of GB Joshi (Jada Bharata), the founder and writer of Manohara Granthamala, and leads the publishing house as editor after GB Joshi’s death in 1993.

Professor Josh’s wife, son Joshi and two daughters survived.

Professor Joshi worked as an English teacher at Kittel College in Dharwad, and then led the department until retirement.

He edited several books and completed the translation. His translation of Deenanth Malhotra Book Publishing Entering Kannada is considered a famous work.

Professor Joshi (Professor Joshi) led Manohara Granthamala for more than thirty years and has won several awards, including the Unique Publisher Award from the Indian Publishers Alliance in New Delhi; the Best Publisher Award from Kannada Pustaka Pradhikara; and the Best Publisher Award from Kannada Sahitya Parishat and others.

He was appointed Sarvadhyaksha of Sarvadhyaksha in Kannada State in 2022.

Family members say the remains of the mortal will be preserved on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on May 18 at his residence in Mangalwarpet in Dharwad for the last respect of the public.

Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti, Trade Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, Regional Minister Santosh Lad and several writers mourn the death of Professor Joshi.
