Murderbot Review: Critics praise Alexander Skårsgard’s new comedy

If you’re looking for something to stream this weekend, it might be just a matter of sounding like Apple TV+’s new dystopian comedy Murderbot.

Starring Alexander Skårsgard as the titular Android, the show started on Friday with its first two episodes and already has a near-perfect critical score of 98% on the review collection website Rotten tomatoes.

What are curious critics’ comments on the timely new series? Observe carefully below…

“Murderbot has solved the impossible. It finds a way to take the oldest, most tired, most overused premises throughout science fiction – ‘What does it mean to be human? – My Comedy King is the best comedy I’ve ever seen this year.

“But despite all the pitfalls of another dystopian sci-fi series – a genre that Apple stands out, Murderbot quickly proves the shiny, happy opposite. This comfortable comfort escape dose will warm any heart, artificial or other people’s clams.”

“[A] Killer Adaptation… While this is not the first time Apple TV+ has dabbled in space, action or comedy, it is the first time the platform has entered a story that brings these three together. Through this unique combination, and the iconic premise of the novella, bringing Wells’ murder cell phone to life leads to something special. ”

“Skarsgård’s ability to combine his chisel, leading good looks with a very stupid sense of humor (which has worked well on continuous continuous effects lately) makes the Murderbot a pleasant, lightweight watch. It may not catch the big philosophical issues of today, but it may bring you – briefly, from thinking about the upcoming Ai Apapalypeperpeperperperpese”.

“This is something I can definitely recommend, mainly because I really like Skarsgard, his narrative and his internal dialogue.”

“The show is more of a comedy with periodic action, suspense and sadness. For the most part, the tone and genre shift worked because of Skarsgård, thanks to Skarsgård. […] His voiceover narrative is sometimes both interesting and surprising. ”

Apple TV+’s new series Murderbot has received almost unanimous praise from critics

“The series is part of a sci-fi adventure, part of a workplace comedy, part of a nature of free will, part of a crafty excavation, all of which exudes some really interesting clips from a futuristic space soap opera. All? so much pleasure. ”

“Although the pace improves, and as the series progresses, the characters’ interactions become more meaningful, but when ‘silly fucking humans are still the bulk of the comments,’ I don’t have a stomach, so I can’t throw it away, but if I do, I’ll be a representative sample of humor, which is a waste of opportunity.”

“Murderbot often seems to be uncertain about what it wants. With its brief episodes (about 25 minutes) and the setting of workplace comedy, it expects your sitcom, but it has no sitcom rhythm or structure. It is plot-like drama, with fewer comedy and jokes than Murderbot’s human observations. It’s essentially known in what people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are, people are.

“Skarsgard made Murderbot a success, even if some readers would regret that he was not a murderous bot inferred from the page.”

Murderbot’s first two episodes are now streaming on Apple TV+, with new installments every Friday.
