Hyderabad Gulzar Houz Fire:

Just a few minutes after offering the morning Namaz, Mir Zahed and Mohd Azmath heard the screams of two women passing by the building near Gulzar Houz. Smoke rolled over the upper floors of the house, panic grabbed the narrow driveway.

Hyderabad Fire Update: May 18, 2025

“We saw two women crying, saying there was a fire inside and people were trapped inside,” Zahed recalled. Without hesitation – before the first fire bidding arrived, the two broke into the building, determined to help. They tell how they broke two walls and reached the room, and they found women and children trapped due to the fire. What they encounter is pain. On the first floor, a woman was found holding five to seven children in a desperate hug – no one was angry. “This is something I will never forget,” Mr. Zahed said.

They climbed to the second floor where they found six people, some injured and some barely conscious. The two entered the building around 6.10am and managed to bring the survivors out by 8.40am

They were one of the first to arrive at the building and deal with the chaos inside.

They thought quickly and had their original courage to stand out that morning. Locals and family and friends thanked them for their quick response.
