What should parents do?
Urge parents and guardians to stop using recalled jewelry immediately. Keep items away from children. Check product details to see if your items are included in the recall. If so, follow Health Canada’s instructions to return items and receive a refund or replacement.
Consumers who believe they have a recalled product or are aware of any health issues should report to Canadian health. The official recall notice provides more details, including images and product descriptions.
So far, there have been no reports of jewellery-related diseases or injuries. Despite this, Health Canada is still engaging in caution. Lead exposure can be dangerous and may not immediately appear even at low levels.
