PPP project of Thamaraassery Depot, which is considering developing KSRTC

The development of the Kerala State Road Transport Company (KSRTC) in the Thamaraassery warehouse in Kozhikode District is being considered as part of improving rural and zoning services. Preparation for the master plan will begin soon, which will also meet the requirements of instant renovations.
MK Muneer, MLA and Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar took action after a recent discussion. An expert team of architects, people’s representatives and officials representing the public works department has visited the proposed location to understand the requirements and plans suitable for rapid implementation.
Increase income
KSRTC officials said the warehouse is located in a one-acre graffiti that provides excellent facilities for passengers and bus personnel to improve the company’s revenue from rural areas. They also said that the warehouse is now managing more than 30 successful services due to all the development crises, including very old buildings and pending renovations.
Thamaassery Grama Panchayat authorities say the Thamaassery warehouse earns better income from rural bus services in the area is second. According to them, more than 40 services were initially shortened due to shortages of conductors and drivers. They added that the warehouse is now operating in a 45-year-old building.
“Our proposal is to approve the construction and transfer (BOT) project in the PPP model if the state and KSRTC are expanding full cooperation. This is a two-story building with underground maintenance work works that can be implemented within one year, which we are seeking under the finalization of Masterplan.” He also hopes that some organizations’ corporate social responsibility funding will further support the project.
Services have been restored
At the request of the local administrator, some long-distance services to Thiruvananthapuram and Guruvayur were restored in the warehouse. KSRTC officials said the shortage of about 25 drivers should also be addressed to restore some previously stopped rural services.
