Faction-driven government abuses power to calm oppn:ex-mla

Vijayawada: Kasu Mahesh Reddy, a senior leader of the former MLA and YSRC, criticized the state’s coalition government, calling it a faction-driven regime, and abused power to keep the opposition silent. He claimed that the government was trying to curb dissent through fo foseffals and arrested people close to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy under the guise of alcohol scams, which he claimed was untrue.

Mahesh spoke to the media here, accusing Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of ruling the country with political revenge and fear, just like his party workers. He said there was no evidence even the honest officials such as former IAS Dhanunjaya Reddy and Osd Krishna Mohan Reddy. He warned that once the YSRC returns to the state, those currently abused their power will be held responsible.

Mahesh Reddy questioned how the hotel is now run by leaders of TD and its allies, selling the same brand at a higher price. He claimed that the last government had put alcohol sales in the public’s hands, but now they were controlling control of the ruling party leaders, adding that the government failed to fulfill any promises in its first year of taking office and faced growing public dissatisfaction. He said the coalition government’s growing support for the YSRC frightened the coalition government, which promoted its abuse of power.
