Union Home Affairs Minister Bandi Sanjay said Karimnagar Railway Station has undergone a complete makeover.
He said that under Amrit Bharat Station Plan (ABSS), the Karim Nagar Railway Station, which had been spent 3.33 million, had been modernized, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi planned to open 102 railway stations under ABS across the country in virtual mode on May 22, with a national redevelopment.
He pointed out that among them, Karimnagar is one of the three railway stations in Telangana (Begumpet, Warangal and Karimnagar).
Mr Sanjay told reporters after visiting the rebuilt Karimnagar train station on Sunday night that Jammikunta train station will also be modernized soon.
“Modernization works are underway at 40 railway stations in Telangana, with expenditure of Rs 20,000 crore. In Karimnagar, two MMTS platforms, escalators, adequate networking agencies, AC waiting halls, food courts, food courts and other facilities are all developed under ABS.”
He insisted that more than Rs 329,400 crore has been used for railway development in Telangana. “In this year alone, Rs 5.336 crore has been allocated. The Secunderabad and Nampally train stations in the national capital are being redeveloped at an estimated cost of Rs 7,500 crore and Rs 3,500 crore. Rs 1.5 lakh has been used on the development of the Telangana national highway.”
He said that the Centre was mined by Congress and BRS leaders, who said these developments spoke as their own. He asserted: “We are ready to release a white paper on how much funds the Telangana Development Center has allocated.”
Mr Sanjay said work on the bridge (Rob) on Teegalaguttapalli in Karimnagar will speed up the completion of Rob within the prescribed time.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the late progress of Jammikunta Mandal Uppal’s Rob work, saying he had issued instructions to the contractors concerned to complete the single-line work by June this year.
He mourned 17 deaths in a tragic incident in Hyderabad’s Gulzar Houz and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately responded and announced aid.
