A powerful video surfaced, showing then-member Vice President Joe Biden solidified a crying Meghan McCain in his vision while discussing his father’s grim cancer diagnosis.
But now, in the brutal twist of fate, Biden needs to comfort his inspiring words, now his aggressive metastatic prostate cancer is being satirized by irony.
The clip was shot in December 2017 and shows Meghan McCain broke the midterm when asked how Biden dealt with his loved one’s combat cancer.
Her father, John McCain, had just been diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer that claimed two years ago, Beau Biden, the eldest son of the president.
Biden walked around without hesitation, grabbed her close-up, grabbed Megan’s hand and said quietly, “There is hope…if anyone can do it, it’s your father.”
When Biden described the “breakthrough” that occurred in cancer research, the studio was silent, urging her not to give up and stick to her faith.
Now Biden struggles to cope with his diagnosis – Gleason scores 9, prostate cancer has spread to his bones, and the same goes for heavier words.
Biden, which seems to have hope in the edit, is now fighting the disease he once tried to soothe others.

“I’m thinking about Bet almost every day, and I’m told it’s not easy, but you develop tools to work with and work with it,” Megan said.
In the interview, Biden spoke frankly about the personal pain of watching his loved ones suffer.
He recalls a late night call with John McCain, who he described as a political rival but lifelong friend, like two brothers raised by different fathers.
“Her father chased my hammer and pliers, and we were like two brothers, raised by different fathers because of our perspective,” Biden, then 75, said with a smile.
Then, when Meghan recalls sometime during McCain’s 2008 campaign, he started to laugh.
Biden said the most important thing he learned from his son’s cancer battle is how important it is to keep hope.
McCain, 81, was diagnosed with glioblastoma in July 2017, with an aggressive brain tumor. He finally passed away in August 2018.
McCain was diagnosed with the same cancer Biden’s son Beau died in 2015.
“What I found is that Beau insists, your father wants to insist, you have to keep hope. Hope, you have to have hope,” Biden said.
McCain, 81, was diagnosed with glioblastoma with an aggressive brain tumor in July 2017. He finally passed away in August 2018.
Biden’s message of hope is at the heart of his Cancer Moonlight initiative, which launched the vice president in 2022 and resurrected as president – a deep personal cross about the disease, a disease that took his son and threatened families across the country.
