Humble owner of beloved Sydney takeaway store offers $5,000 tip

The owner of an inconspicuous takeaway store was speechless when YouTuber Spanish handed him thousands of dollars in cash.
Spanish, a former official turned popular Vlogger whose real name is Anthony Lees, uploaded a video in three restaurants that tested burgers and chips on the road on May 11.
Contenders are the collection of takeaway food stores in Chifley, Waterloo and the daily fresh lunch bar in Alexandria.
Waterloo takeaway food store in southern Sydney won the crown thanks to its owner’s wonderful food and enthusiastic service, namely “Chicken George”.
“Your burger is very good, the price is very good, and it’s very friendly,” the Spanish said.
“I’m going to give you a tip,” he told the man, then gave him $5,000 in cash.
As the Hispanic counted $100 bills, George could be seen shaking his head with a smile: “No, you don’t have to…I didn’t expect it.”
At one point, he seemed to try to drag Lees back a pile of $100 bills, but Spanish insisted he took the money.

Takeaway without a logo, empty in the Spanish video, but a few days after the blog was published, people lined up
A few days after the video was published, Spanish returned to the takeaway store – and found it buzzing with customers lined up with food.
“Since the video was released on Sunday, he has been attracting customers from burgers,” YouTuber said.
Takeaway seems to have a personal connection with the Spanish, who describes it as an “old staple.”
“I don’t know if this has always been the owner, but this place has been there since I was a kid,” he said.
“Literally, I’ve been well for a long time, but it still exists.”
Locals commented to celebrate the victory of the local legend, and many former clients described him as “humble.”
’20+ Yrs I know Chicken George, always the same, still remembering us when we show up. No one deserves more. Users say he has a lot of respect for that hood.
Another said: “This store has been coming from the corner of my house for a long time. I’m glad that Spanish chose this guy to win. It’s worth it.
“He is a good guy, endured a lot, but always friendly, attentive, and excellent service to his clients. Very respectful to your Spanish.
