A man cut off from a car door is finally found after decades of police attempting to track his true identity.
Bryan Woolis threw only one shot from his home in Walthamstow, London after being hit by Mercedes on January 22, 2015.
However, there are no records of Brian Wallace’s man, found after his death.
Even after the incident, the driver was sentenced to probation, the case remained open because Mr Wools was never formally identified.
In January 2024, a newspaper launched a call from Interate International, a charity dedicated to finding missing and naming unidentified lawsuits to track down Brian.
This attracted the attention of other inspector Nik Dodsworth, who became interested in Mr. Wallis’s identity after learning that the man might have contacted Sheffield.
“They have two quality photos of the victims, but despite this, he is still not sure. I find it sad,” South Yorkshire Police Inspector told the BBC.
A dedicated inspector trawled net found a partial DNA contest in the old police case archives, and eventually discovered the man’s true identity – Bryan Alwyn Woolis through the police’s national computer database.

Positioning International is a charity dedicated to finding missing and naming identities, who is trying to properly iterate over his name to obtain a new tombstone for Mr. Woolis.
Inspector Dodsworth took a step further and managed to discover Woolis’ estranged family after he found his father Alwyn Woolis’s sued online.
The memorial shows that Mr Wooles’ senior Mr. Wooles died in Derbyshire in 2016 and said he had three children, including Brian, survived.
According to inspectors, Bryan chose to live a more peaceful life at the time of her death, and she hadn’t seen his sister since she moved out of London in the 2000s to take care of her father.
Bryan was not registered as a missing person when he died tragically in 2015 due to his prolonged absence from talking to his family.
“Although she didn’t get close, she [his sister] Bryan experienced grief after his death,” he said. “She heard that Bryan died of natural causes, but could not find any rumors to confirm this. ”
Dodsworth inspector explained that while many people may find death without identity shockingly happening, it is more common than people believe.
Now, International is trying to get a new tombstone for Mr. Woolis with the right iteration.
Inspector Dodworth announced the acquisition of a new tombstone for Mr. Woolis and revealed that he experienced a “satisfaction” after reaching this mysterious roots.
‘I’m glad they [the family] Finally some ended in this tragic event and could begin rebuilding. ” he said.
