In 2014, then-London Mayor Boris Johnson said: “There is an urgent need to restore George Clooney’s marble”, describing Clooney’s proposal as “an agenda for advocating Hitlerian’s London cultural treasures.” Clooney replied that Johnson’s remarks were “too much exaggeration washed down by some whiskey.”
