TMC leader attempts to shoot his security personnel, holds weapons, ammunition

Kolkata: The Panchayat-level Trinamul Congress leader in Nadia, West Bengal, was arrested by police with weapons and ammunition after opening fire at his security personnel, a policeman who was lucky enough to escape.
The defendant Sejajul Haque Shah alias Mithu was earlier the leader of the Maoist squadron. After joining TMC, he became a follower of the Tehatta Tapas Saha party MLA, who died last week.
Mithu is the vice president of TMC at Karimpur Panchayat Samity No. 2, and his wife is head of TMC-Run Narayanpur Gram Panchayat. In the threatening of his life, he recently received security insurance from the state police.
Police officer Jahangir Alam was sent to his protection. On Sunday evening, Mithu was drinking after begging Mr. Saha to return to his home in Thanarpara area.
Mr. Alam asked him to fall asleep, but he ignored it. The dispute broke down. Mithu suddenly took out a country pistol (single shooter) and pulled the trigger. But the bullet missed the police. Mitt’s wife restrained him in some way.
In the early hours of the day, police raided the TMC leader’s house and arrested him. Police also caught the state-made weapons used in the shooting, an empty cartridge, a 7mm and 9mm revolver and eight rounds of ammunition during the search process.
