President Donald Trump said he made progress on a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 19, and he also spoke with heads of most European countries. Trump earlier said Russia and Ukraine “will start negotiations immediately” and end their three-year-old war. The Kremlin said Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump spoke on Monday about the “impressive” prospects of U.S. leaders between the two countries. Putin said after the appeal that Russia will cooperate with Ukraine and have a memorandum on future peace agreements. Trump said Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations on a ceasefire.
