Salman Khan Planet Player opened nicely but failed to beat Vicky Kaushal’s chhaava to earn Rs 26 crore

Title of Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, Ar Murugadoss’ Sikandar was released in the cinema on March 30. Despite a lot of comments, Salman’s Salman’s Star Power attracted audiences, while the popular heroes made a good start at the box office. The initial data for the open day has passed.

According to the trade portal Sacnilk, Sikandar made Rs 26 crore until 10 pm. With the trend, we can expect that the day will end with Rs 30-33 crore in India. Sacnilk also shared the first day’s occupancy rate, with 13.76% performances in the morning, 24% performances in the afternoon and 25% performances in the evening. With Salman’s stars, the film is expected to earn Rs 50-10 crore from overseas, which will make the opening day of Rs 40-43 crore worldwide.

In comparison, Sikandar achieved the second biggest start in 2025, behind Chhaava. Vicky Kaushal-Starrer opened 310 million. By the end of the first day, Sikandar is most likely to cross Chhaava. Still, Sikandar is not the top three for Salman Khan. The biggest opening of his career was Tiger 3, earning Rs 4.45 crore. Next is Bharat (Rs 4.23 crore) and Sudan (Rs 3.654 crore).

Sikandar is the comeback of Salman Khan after Tiger 3 (2023). The film marks the first collaboration between Salman and Ghajini director Ar Murugadoss. Movie star Rashmika Mandanna is opposite Salman, Satyaraj and Sharman Joshi are in key roles. Sikandar was produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner Nadiadwala Grandsons, marking the reunion of Salman and Sajid after Kick (2014). Along with Sikandar, Murugadoss also returned to Bollywood nine years later. His last director was Sonakshi Sinha’s Akira (2016). The film is touted as the biggest female-centric actionist, but it is a commercial failure.
