The tanker is driven by professional driver Jamie Cummings at 25 mph.

Although Mr. Cummings cannot see Mr. Davis’ car in the mirror, he heard that he could see Groves’ “car” trying to surpass him many times due to his blind spots’.

Police Gwenter released videos with Davis’ family’s permission to remind motorists of “careless driving ruins.”

After the incident, Groves called 999 three times to seek help. At one point, he told the court that Groves was told that he might have to wait “more than three hours.”

He said the fire truck was the first responder to the scene, with medical staff arriving from 6.41am. Mr. Davis was pronounced dead at 7.25 a.m.

Dale Groves of Alfred Street, Merthyr Tydfil, pleaded not guilty to death due to carelessness/no consideration of driving and death due to dangerous driving.

Mr. Davis’s partner Sharon Griffiths was read out during a sentencing hearing at Crown Court in Cardiff on Friday, and she spoke about her devastating losses.

“I left, rushed to the scene, and was shocked by the huge shock of the emergency vehicle. Gareth was in great pain, obviously.

“I called him to let him know I was there to reassure and comfort him, so that the firefighters could help him, but he said, “I can’t be baby, sorry.”

“He became quiet and lost consciousness. Firefighters performed CPR on him and began yelling where the ambulance was.

“A while passed, the ambulance arrived, and Gareth kept working. Things got crazy, air ambulance, my two sons arrived between each other. It feels like hours, but about minutes.

“Two people, a doctor and a policeman told us that they told us the worst news is conceivable. Nothing else, Gareth died. We broke down each other in shock and tried to keep each other standing.

“Garres was placed behind the ambulance and we were allowed to spend time with him before he was taken to the morgue in the hospital. In a few weeks, this numbness and false sense of reality.

“We had to wait for the autopsy, feeling helpless, we had no sense of purpose. There is no way to move forward, as if everything has stopped.

Ms. Griffith said it took a year to find out that Groves would be sued and it felt like there was no answer.

After facing the defendant, she described the trial as “heartbreaking.”

She added: “The driver used the word “big error”. His huge error destroyed our families. Our lives could not recognize them. Gareth’s life was taken away and our lives were ruined.

Groves was sentenced to 10 months in prison for two years. He was ordered to do 250 hours of unpaid work and canceled driving for five years.
